Net Zero refers to the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to as close to zero as possible by transitioning from a fossil-based energy system to a low-carbon energy system and managing land use effectively, with any remaining emissions offset by reabsorbing them from the atmosphere through natural processes in oceans and forests.

By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, UI NZI intends to accelerate innovative solutions that will contribute to achieving a net-zero world by the middle of this century.
