What is net zero?

Net Zero refers to the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to as close to zero as possible by transitioning from a fossil-based energy system to a low-carbon energy system and managing land use effectively, with any remaining emissions offset by reabsorbing them from the atmosphere through natural processes in oceans and forests.
